Beardman. 2018 Style Guide: 5 Different Beard Styles You Should Try

Universal fact – If there’s anything that can turn a boy into a man, it’s a beard! Beard style guide.

Amazingly, every other man is seen sporting a beard nowadays. And still, they look all so different as there’s a huge variety of beard styles to choose from- short beard styles, long beard styles, full beard styles, no bear beard styles (also known as the clean-shaven look). So, we thought we’d give you some insight into a few styles and help you choose from them to find your style for 2018.

1. The Goatee

It’s one of the most well-known types of beards. It should have hair right below the lower lip and the standard size for a goatee has to be the same as the width of the beardsman’s mouth. So, let the hair below your lip grow down into the part of the beard growing around the chin. Define the sides as vertical lines or slightly curved and round off the hair at the bottom.

2. The Stubble

This style can be achieved by growing your beard for 2-3 days. If you want to keep a medium-styled stubble that looks deliberate, but not lazy, keep the length between 3 to 5 mm. It’s perfect for making a rugged statement as it accentuates the facial contours and matures a baby face.

3. The Garibaldi

The Garibaldi is the type of beard that will suit a man who is looking for a slightly unkempt style. Basically, it’s a wide and full beard with a rounded bottom and an integrated moustache and should not be more than 20 cm in length. While the moustache should be kept neat, the beard can be allowed to grow naturally. In fact, the more natural the beard appears the better.

4. The French Fork

The double point under the chin is the distinguishing feature of this style. It’s considered a full beard look, but is characterized by hair extending past the chin and splitting down the middle in two segments and is named for the fact that original French forks only had two prongs. Remember Jack Sparrow? That’s the look we are going for.

5. The Anchor

The style takes its name from the resemblance to the subject. You should avoid having sideburns on your face to get this look right. The beard needs to extend along the jawline and then styled to a point that would be connected to a pencil mustache so that the overall shape is anchor-like.
