Here are some of the best barbers offering hair and beard treatment in Manchester Professional beard looks.
World Beard Day might have been and gone, but that doesn't mean it's ok to let the man grow out of control.. While you may have a read a smattering of pieces claiming the beard is dead, if you take a quick look around Manchester, you will soon see that it is alive and well.
The beard has now almost become an extension of the haircut. You probably wouldn’t cut your own hair so if you treasure your well-rounded, big, bushy beard and don’t want to risk it looking anything other than its best, you should let a professional see to it.
Here are some of the city’s best:
The clue is very much in the name.
Mr. Beardmore is a barber shop that describes itself as being a ‘traditional barbershop’, but fear not if you have an inexplicable fear of the past it definitely presents itself in a modern way.
Better yet the shop even offers you beers while you wait.
Formerly situated at 33-34 Dale Street the shop is now in the process of moving up the road towards Oldham Street. The new store will be situated at 2 Dale Street, the former location of vintage shop JUNK.
With stores open in Liverpool, Leeds, London, Birmingham and Manchester it’s safe to say barber Barber has established itself as an admirable salon that promotes ‘clean cuts’ and ‘close shaves’.

Thankfully all traces of their ‘No Women Allowed’ slogan seem to have been dropped from their website.
It had previously got the Liverpool store into the press for all the wrong reasons.
The Manchester unit is neatly hidden away at 3 Barton Square just off Deansgate.

Small, efficient and relaxed are probably the best three words to describe this boutique-style barber on the corner of Great Ancoats Street and Lever Street.
Founded by Alex Shore after being an out-of-work actor didn’t pay off, Close now has multiple stores with another two in the city centre on Bridge Street and Whitworth Street.
There are a further two salons in Chorlton and Altrincham.
They can offer you skilful throat shaves and free bottled beer.
Tucked away just off Tib Street in The Northern Quarter (of course) do not be fooled by the glaringly obvious Beatles reference.
Rubber Soul will thankfully not just offer you a Lennon and McCartney-esque bowl cut, it didn’t look good then and it doesn’t now.
Like many of the barbers on this list, it aims and succeeds in creating a serene atmosphere.
It also offers a Spotify library where you can pick the music that’s playing during your visit.
Or if you shun technology and prefer dusty old vinyl they also have a turntable on hand. BYOR (Bring your own records).
Rubber Soul is located at 16 Whittle Street.
Mr Male Grooming
The Marilyn Monroe pop art, the spotlight and the unicycle lining the window all scream ‘turn-up jeans’ but perhaps that’s the point.
Located in Spinningfields - Manchester’s hub of matte concrete and tinted glass - Mr Male Grooming is as classy as it gets.

Founded in 2011 by Chris Phillips and Karl Lewis the store offers a reduced early bird option which can get you up to 16% cut off the total price.
Throughout the summer Mr Male Grooming has also had a pop up shop over at The Lawn Club.
