When it comes to men, a well-rounded approach to grooming is just not complete without a quality shaving cream and a device to tackle facial hair. Attractive beard styles.
There are several great looking ways men can style their facial hair but getting nice, clean lines and a sharp edge can be difficult without the proper tools.
Razor burn and skin irritation are additional concerns for men especially given that most men must shave daily.
The products listed below are designed to limit these concerns and help you achieve the look you desire for your facial hair.
If you wet shave, then a quality cream can make all the difference between a close, comfortable shave and a face that feels like you just set it on fire:
Mod Shave Cream – A vintage cream that feels like a throw-back to the days of lying comfortably in a barber’s chair while getting a close, professional shave
Liz Earle Sensitive Shave Cream – A quality product that’s great for men with sensitive skin but may be a little pricey for some men to spend on shaving
Elemis Men Skin Soothe Shave Gel – Provides an amazing shave, very close and comfortable. Not a bad price considering the quality of the product.
Dove Men + Care Sensitive Care Shave Cream – An All-Star, in my opinion, because it’s quality closely matches that of the more expensive brands, without the hefty price tag

In terms of what razor to use, I personally only use the Gillette Fusion Series. I highly recommend for guys to try it if they haven’t already. Because it’s the only razor I’ve ever used, or ever will, it’s hard for me to give you any well informed advice on the other brands.
I will tell you this, find the razor that gives you the most comfortable shave and stick with it. It may take some trial and error but, like women, when you find the ONE, you’ll know it.
For those men who prefer not to wet shave there are many options available. The shaver you choose can make a significant difference in the quality of shave. The shavers below are some of the higher quality ones available:
Braun Blue Foil Shaver 340S-4
Remington R7150 Black Diamond X Rotary Shaver
Philips Sensotouch RQ1151/17 Wet and Dry Electric Shaver
Panasonic ES-RW30-S511 Twin Blade Foil Shaver
I quickly touched on facial hair styles above but since this area actually can make a huge difference in terms of a man’s appearance, I’d like to go into it a little further.
A lot of women absolutely LOVE a man with neatly trimmed, well groomed facial hair.
If you’re a guy who can grow a thick beard consider going to a professional barber who is very skilled with a straight razor. With a few exceptions (my personal barber actually is white) I’ve found that black men tend to be amazing barbers and have crazy skills with a straight razor.
Regardless of their color, find one who is able to give you good, clean lines while shaping and detailing your beard the way you want it.
Also, ask for their advice if you’re not sure what to do with your facial hair. They do it for a living and they see the latest, most attractive, styles day in and day out.
And, like your hair style, another option is to find a picture of a style you like and bring it to them. That way they know exactly what you’re looking for.
If you happen to be a man who is “folicly challenged”, as I like to call it, and unable to grow a full beard, don’t fret.
I’ve met SO many women who actually prefer a man with a close, smooth shave all over his face. A lot of them love the baby face look. And, if you’re a guy who’s inching closer to his mid to late thirties, the closely shaved look can help take a few years off of your appearance.
Whatever you do, if you are unable to grow full facial hair, please do not be one of these guys who runs around with patches all over their face. Trust me.

Doing so does not make you look more attractive to women. It makes you look like an unwashed, poorly groomed scrub.
I don’t mean to be harsh but I just want to emphasize what a “no-no” this is. You are FAR better off sporting a clean shaved face than you are a wannabe goatee, moustache or whatever it is that is supposed to be.
A well rounded approach to grooming doesn’t really need to be complicated at all.
If you really want to step up your game, and be an Alpha , you’ll need to put at least a little time and effort, daily, into being well groomed. The products in this article can be used as part of a simple but effective grooming regimen.
By rising above the normal men of the world, and their normal efforts, you can set yourself apart and have an edge over the competition.
